T3 Code
TL;DR
T3 Code is an app on top of Claude Code. Use it instead of the terminal: it makes working with several conversations per project easy, and the UI is nicer to read.
How it works
T3 Code doesn’t replace Claude Code. It drives the Claude Code you already installed and logged in to, with your own subscription, so everything in the other posts still applies. It runs as a desktop app or as a local web app, and it supports other agents like Codex too.
Each conversation is a thread in a sidebar, grouped by project.
My take
Use it instead of the terminal:
- Threads are cheap. Starting a new conversation is one click, so keeping each one small (see keeping Claude Code on track) happens naturally.
- Several at once. Grill a story in one thread, implement in another, ask a quick question in a third without polluting either. In the terminal, that’s a tab per conversation and resuming them by id.
- Easier to read. Rendered Markdown and diffs instead of terminal output.
Gotchas
- Two threads editing the same checkout. They overwrite each other’s work and you can’t tell which change came from where. Run parallel work in separate git worktrees, or don’t run it in parallel when you’re starting out.
- More threads isn’t more output. Every thread produces code you have to review. One or two at a time is plenty.
Example
A project’s sidebar while working on one story:
invoice-service
├── Grill: invoice export ← ends by writing docs/invoice-export.md
├── Implement docs/invoice-export.md ← a new thread that starts from that file
└── Why is OrderServiceTest slow? ← a quick question on the side
To install it, follow the instructions on t3.codes. Install and log in to Claude Code first.
